STEP 4: Assign a Trigger Button

Refer to your device’s user documentation to assign a trigger

button.

If you do not want to assign a hardware button to

trigger the scanner, you can install Socket’s Floating

Trigger, available on the installation CD.

If SocketScan is not running yet, you can press the

assigned trigger button to quickly launch SocketScan.

Pressing the trigger button will activate the scanner

only when SocketScan is open.

1. Tap Start | Settings | Buttons.

2. From the Button list, tap to select a button to trigger the

SD Scan Card. In the drop-down menu, select SocketScan.

When done, tap ok.

For maximum ergonomics,

choose a button located

directly beneath your thumb or

forefinger when you hold the

device. For the SoMo 650

handheld computer, the Right

and Left side buttons are

recommended.
